Step-by-Step Walkthrough

Step 1: Install from Chrome Web Store

Adding NetRot to your Chrome browser is quick and easy:

  1. Click the "Add to Chrome" button on this website or visit the Chrome Web Store directly
  2. On the Chrome Web Store page, click "Add to Chrome"
  3. A popup will appear showing the permissions requested – click "Add Extension"
  4. You'll see a confirmation that NetRot has been added to Chrome

The entire process takes about 5 seconds. No account creation, no email required.

Step 2: Navigate to Netflix

Once installed, simply go to netflix.com as you normally would. NetRot activates automatically when it detects you're on Netflix – there's nothing you need to do.

You'll notice the NetRot icon in your browser toolbar will show as active when you're on Netflix.

Step 3: Enjoy Ratings

As you browse Netflix, you'll see ratings appear on:

  • Movie & TV Show Cards: Ratings overlay on the poster thumbnails
  • Hover Previews: When you hover over a title, expanded ratings show in the preview
  • Detail Pages: Full ratings displayed when you click into a title's page

Managing Your Experience

Want to browse without ratings? Click the NetRot icon in your toolbar to toggle ratings on or off. Your preference is saved and persists across sessions.

Keyboard Shortcuts

Power users can use keyboard shortcuts (coming soon) to quickly toggle ratings without clicking.
